It has been a year since we arrived in Israel. A year that we have been at the Bahá'í World Centre. It has truly been a blessing to be able to be here and to serve as volunteers. I know it might not be easy to grasp this for some of our friends or relatives (what is the big deal to be here, you might think), but for us it means a lot and we are enjoying every moment!
For the one year anniversary occasion, some of us decided to organize a brunch for our orientation group. We were more than happy that it happened in our flat. We all had such a good time! It was a perfect day, the weather was nice and sunny, and the company was excellent!
Given that it was a potluck brunch, we all contributed something. We were going to contribute a fruit salad, but in the morning I decided that this occasion would be the perfect one to have crêpes (as in French crêpes, not pancakes). Luckily, my mum had given me the recipe for it and all I had to do was try it out (on my own for the first time in my life)! Well, I think I can say that it was a success! The crêpes came out really well and they tasted good.
PS: It as also the excellent opportunity for some of us to drink or to try for the first time some mate!
John: And Natascha proved to be a truly expert pancake flipper!
Cela fait un an que nous sommes arrivés en Israel. Cela fait un an que nous sommes au Centre mondial bahá’í. Cela a vraiment été une bénidiction de pouvoir être ici et de pouvoir servir ici en tant que volontaires. Je sais que parfois ce n’est pas toujours facile de saisir ça (certains pouraient de demander ce qu'il y a de particulier et génial à ça) mais pour nous être ici compte énormement pour nous et cela signifie aussi beaucoup et on profite de chaque instant!
Etant donne que c’est un brunch potluck, chacun devait amener quelque chose. Nous avions décidé de faire une salade de fruits mais en me réveillant le matin je me suis dit que ce brunch était une occasion parfaite pour des crêpes! (des crêpes françaises, pas des pancakes). Heureusement que ma mere m’avait donne la recette il y a quelques années de ça et tout ce que j’avais à faire c’était de l’essayer (toute seule, comme une grande pour la première fois de ma vie – il y a un début a tout!). Ben, je pense que cela a été un succès! Les crêpes étaient parfaits et très bonnes.
PS: c’était aussi l'occasion parfaite pour certains d'entre nous de boire ou d'essayer pour la première fois du maté.
John: Et Natascha est devenue une pro pour faire sauter les crêpes !
